Setting up LinkSync

LinkSync is designed to run from your iPhone’s Action Button or any iOS Shortcut. After installing:

1. Open LinkSync once to complete the brief onboarding.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to add LinkSync to your Action Button (Settings > Action Button > Shortcut > LinkSync) or set up a custom Shortcut.
3. Copy a music link from Apple Music or Spotify.
4. Press your Action Button (or run the Shortcut) — the converted link will open automatically.

Once configured, you never need to open the LinkSync app again. The conversion happens entirely in the background.

Frequently asked questions

Why didn’t my link convert?

LinkSync only converts links from the official Apple Music and Spotify catalogs. If a song is region-restricted, not available on the target service, or the link format is unsupported, the conversion may fail. Try:

• Confirming the source link still works in its original app
• Checking that the song is available on the target service in your region
• Updating LinkSync to the latest version

Do I need an Apple Music or Spotify account?

No. LinkSync uses public lookup endpoints to find matching tracks. You don’t need to sign in to either service to use LinkSync — although you’ll need the corresponding app installed to actually play the converted link.

Does LinkSync collect my data?

The free app does not: it creates no account, collects no personal information, and never tracks usage. The optional Premium subscription is the only part that stores data — when you sign in with Apple, it keeps a private history of the links people send you, tied to your own account and visible only to you. You can delete your account and all of that data anytime from Settings → Account → Delete account. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What platforms does LinkSync support?

LinkSync is currently available on iOS. Android support is not currently planned.

Is LinkSync free?

Yes — converting links is free forever, with no ads. LinkSync also offers an optional Premium subscription that adds a private, synced history of the links people send you. Premium is entirely optional; you never need it to convert links. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
